ps. It might be worth adding that a class refers most often to the group of pupils who attend regularly rather than the utterances of the teacher to the young people so assembled.

Now, what is "digging" supposed to mean here? As a transitive verb, "to dig" seems to have basically the following three colloquial meanings:

It depends entirely on the context. I would say for example: "I am currently having Italian lessons from a private Übungsleiter." The context there is that a small group of us meet regularly with our Übungsleiter for lessons.
